The Pipestone Township Board met April 9, 2007 at the Township Hall at 8:00pm. The meeting was called to order with the Pledge of Allegiance
|
CALL TO ORDER
|
|
Board members present were Hazen Harner, Alan Nimtz, Richard Skibbe, Robert Bishop and Doug Davis. Also having eleven guests present.
|
MEMBERS PRESENT
|
|
A motion made by Bishop, supported by Skibbe to accept the minutes of the March 26, 2007 Board Meeting as received prior to the meeting. MOTION CARRIED.
|
MINUTES APPROVED
|
|
Skibbe, having deposits for the month of $3,259.00, filed treasurer’s report as read. Leaving a balance in the general fund of $88,480.13
|
TREASURER’S REPORT
|
|
Sgt. Morrow presented a monthly Police Report for Pipestone Township. He discussed the report having fifteen written complaints, sixteen tickets issued and two arrests in Pipestone Township. He also discussed if individuals are planning to go away on vacation, they may ask to be placed on a Property Checklist by calling the Sheriff Department

POLICE REPORTS

Tom Stiles from the Fire Dept presented the March Fire Report, having twenty -nine calls, twelve in which were in Pipestone Township

FIRE REPORT
|
|
Reviewed Twp Hall Roof/ windows Bids, (Rogien $68,650.00,Youngblood $62,000.00, Brothers $54983.00, Dustin 50, 490.00. Motion made by Bishop, supported by Skibbe to table decision till another meeting for board members to review and compare Bids. MOTION CARRIED, having Harner voting Nay.

ROOF/ WINDOW BIDS FOR TWP HAll

|
Nimtz stated he checked into prices for Limestone having Ott’s to deliver at $23.50, Hewitt at $24.00 and Demeski at 18.00/ ton, Motion made by Nimtz, supported by Bishop to have Demeski deliver a load of stone for Shanghai cemetery and have Dar Sanders spread it MOTION CARRIED

Reviewed Election Commission appointments of election workers for the May 8th , 2007 School Election. To be as follows: Marilyn Hart, Debra Kamer, Delores Eisbrenner, Pat Breyen and Pam Anstiss as the alternate

ELECTION WORKERS

|
Motion made by Bishop, supported by Skibbe to have Glassman’s start the Auction Process approximately June 1st for the old Township Hall MOTION CARRIED having Davis voting Nay.

TWP HALL AUCTION
|
|
Floyd Grocholski with Parish Communication stated the Franchise with Pipestone Township is to expire and they would like to amend and renew it for a fifteen year extension being they will be having High speed internet available with cable tv. Nimtz will get an amendment from Parish for next meeting
|
FRANCHISE AGREEMENT RENEWAL

Reviewed the Pipestone Township’s 2006-2007 Annual Report ~~ Assessor’s Report, Clerk’s Report, Tax Report, Planning Commission and Board of Appeals Report, Building and Electrical Reports, Mechanical and Plumbing Reports, Fire Department Report and Budget, Library Report and Budget and the Township Budget Report

ANNUAL REPORT
|
|
Jon Hinkelman discussed the smoking Ban in Berrien County, and having South County working with the Potawonami Tribe on policing matters, the Health Department is looking into establishing a Dental Clinic for the low income, and the shooting range having briefings reviewed from both sides.

COUNTY COMM UPDATE
|
|
The Eau Claire School district Election May 8th 2007 at the Township Hall, 7185 Elm Street there is one candidates running for one position.
