BOARD MEETING

The Pipestone Township Board met October 8, 2007 at the Township Hall at 8:00pm. The meeting was called to order with the Pledge of Allegiance
|
CALL TO ORDER
|
|
Board members present were Hazen Harner, Alan Nimtz, Richard Skibbe, Robert Bishop and Doug Davis. Also having eight guests present.
|
MEMBERS PRESENT
|
|
A motion made by Bishop, supported by Skibbe to accept the minutes of the September 10, 2007 Board Meeting as received prior to the meeting. MOTION CARRIED.
|
MINUTES APPROVED
|
|
Skibbe, having deposits for the month of $30,626.70 filed treasurer’s report as read. Leaving a balance in the general fund of $42,525.63
|
TREASURER’S REPORT
|
|
Deputy Roy Davis from the Berrien County Sheriff Department presented a monthly Police Report for Pipestone Township. He discussed the report having thirty-five written complaints, eighteen tickets issued and eight arrests in Pipestone Township
|
POLICE REPORTS
|
|
Mr. Tom Stiles from the Fire Department presented the incident summery report for the month of September He stated there were thirty-four calls, nine in which were in Pipestone Twp. He also stated in November is the Annual Disaster Drill at Lakeland Hospital, and the need a representative from the Township.

Tabled Drain over Budget Resolution till next meeting.

|
Dustin submitted a bid of $7,350.00 to vinyl side the Twp Hall, being the wood siding is in bad repair and since the eaves are to be sided and when siding a building you start at the bottom and work up. Motion made by Bishop, supported by Nimtz accept the bid to have Dustin vinyl side the Twp Hall. MOTION CARRIED . having Davis voting Nay

Harner presented an application from Thomas R Mitchell (Mitchell Family Limited Partnership) into Michigan’s Farmland and Open Space Preservation Program (PA 116) of parcel #11-16-0015-0020-04-9(38 acres) Upon review of application, determination was made the property was in ag district and being farmed at the present time. Motion made by Skibbe, supported by Bishop that the Township initially approves the application. Nimtz to send application to appropriate agencies. MOTION CARRIED.

Nimtz reviewed Election Commission appointments of Election Workers for the November 6, 2007 LMC millage Election. Having Marilyn Hart as chair, Debra Kamer, Patsy Kremers, Deloras Eisbrenner and Pat Breyen as Alternate

A motion made by Skibbe, supported by Bishop to approve monthly disbursements totaling $20,100.54. MOTION CARRIED.
